Very fragile

I am feeling very fragile at the moment and have lots of things happening this morning. I will hopefully feel more like it after my coffee.

What a nuisance!

I moved slightly a heavy box early yesterday and I heard my right wrist go clunk. But I soon forgot about that. Later my right wrist, hand and lower arm really hurt. I spent quite a time trying to get it looked at and eventually was referred to Community Pharmacist who didn’t examine it but said to use Ibuprofen gel. I came home but wasn’t happy. Eventually one of my friends took me to the Walk-in Centre where after a long wait it was very carefully examined. Bursitis. It has been strapped up. I am not allowed to lift/ move anything heavier than 1 kg for four weeks. Just rest. What a nuisance!

My hands

My right hand really hurts this morning. My hands keep locking in an open clenched fist position (like a lion). I immediately attempt to wriggle them which, so far, sorts it, so it only lasts a fraction of a second. I don’t actually know what causes it but probably just my oldish body packing up on me… ha ha… oh dear!!

Time to cut back

Oh dear, I have been having a lovely time over the past few weeks and I have been breaking my diet once too often which is what the scales are telling me. Time to cut back on the calories!

Coming up soon

One of my friends is coming for lunch today and she is bringing a home cooked veggie lasagne with her. I am really looking forward to seeing her and celebrate her birthday which is coming up soon.

One to be remembered

A good friend took me to Cromer yesterday. It was a lovely sunny day and we had the most delicious fish and chips which was very hot and fresh and I had a very large glass of red wine. She wheeled me in a wheelchair to the pier where we had a yummy chocolate ice cream cone. There was a slight hiccup when one of the tyres came off but she soon had it fixed and after a cup of coffee we headed home. A really lovely day – one to be remembered.

Freedom of speech

We are so lucky to live in the West where we have such freedoms compared with other parts of the world. You could think that freedom of speech is a basic right but we should treasure it – for so many parts of the world that is not the case and people are imprisoned or far worse for speaking out.

About an hour

I couldn’t get to sleep last night and was still awake at 4.30 when I must’ve nodded off. I have only been up about an hour and don’t feel up to anything. Hair being cut in half an hour…

Joe Biden

Joe Biden was, as far as I know, an excellent and very likeable President of the USA. But, unfortunately, his day has gone so l was very relieved when he stood down yesterday. It’s looking like he will be replaced by Kamala Harris but we will have to wait and see what happens.

In the kitty…

The Labour government have been saying that what they have found left by their predecessors is even worse than they had expected. And with no money in the kitty…
